  • Modular back and side walls in white
  • Floor covering – grey carpet
  • Ceiling grid with light fixture
  • Facia and name board(s) with the company name and stand number
  • Electrical socket*

*for full details please visit the Electrics page

The cost of any upgrade, substitutions or additions will be the responsibility of the exhibitor and no deductions will be made for items removed at the exhibitor’s request. To view the full range of additional items that can be supplied by GES to upgrade your shell scheme please download their Services Brochure.

To ordered additional items for shell scheme stands please refer to the relevant section on the Order Forms and Checklist page.

Please note that NO items are to be fixed or suspended from the fascia or celling grid as this could affect the structural integrity of the stand as some parts are not designed to be weight bearing. GES are happy to provide advice and you must ensure that you consult with GES if you do wish to do this.

Shell scheme stands are built to a height of 2.5 metres and free standing cabinets, graphics advertising or display material shall not exceed 3.00m in height.

MACH will be using the ‘Complete’ modular shell system as supplied by GES. The exact measurements, specification and optional additions available for these stands is available to download

You can also view a digital image of a standard shell scheme stand Here.

Please note that the 6.0mm shell infill panels are not load bearing but normal display material may be attached to them by double sided adhesive tape or other means which will not damage the panel in any way.

Under no circumstances are nails or screws to be used on the infill panels.

Wall displays can be fixed to the Complete uprights (poles) by means of various simple fixings which are available from GES, please contact them directly for assistance.

Aluminium ceiling grid beams of 2.0m square format will be fitted throughout each stand. The grid is designed to brace the stand walls and fascia and, apart from general lighting, is not a load bearing structure.

Only where an exhibit exceeds the height restriction, it is possible, in most cases, to re-arrange the grid format by omitting the offending beams or in extreme cases, omitting the grid altogether.

Exhibitors should be aware that by omitting the complete ceiling grid the fascia cannot be fitted. Additionally, if the walls are not braced by the grid of an adjacent stand, some wall bracing may have to be fitted to the interior of the exhibitor’s stand.

In all such cases the exhibitor should contact GES to arrange a practical solution.

Muslin is not included with shell scheme stands but may be ordered separately

Graphics can be ordered to fit your shell scheme either by sending the technical specification to a designer of your choice or by using the Graphics form on the Order Forms page.

Shell scheme exhibitors are cautioned that if they have a half metre panel on their stand OR if they back onto a stand that will divide

Shell scheme exhibitors are not required to submit full stand plans and have their layouts approved by the MACH Team.

If, however, machinery exhibits are being displayed on the shell scheme stand then they must be declared as a part of the stand declarations form and they must comply with the stand build regulations regarding the positioning of machinery exhibits.

All working machinery at the show needs to be viewed in-situ and signed off by our onsite H&S representative so we need an accurate list of where these exhibits are located. Please help us by ensuring you have made  us aware of any  machines on your stand.

Please download the Stand Build Regulations and make sure your machinery placement is compliant with the rules!

Exhibitions and events are deemed as hazardous environments, it is a requirement that every Exhibitor carry out a thorough and suffcient risk assessment for their involvement in the exhibition. Exhibitors are required to assess the risks to workers and others, who may be affected by their work business. This will enable them to identify the measures they need to take to comply with health and safety law.

Shell scheme exhibitors need not submit a risk assessment for the build process but must carry out a sufficient risk assessment for the set-up/operation of your stand onsite and whilst the show is open to visitors.

You should also consider the following when carrying out your Risk Assessment:

  • Slipping/tripping hazards (e.g. poorly maintained carpets, edges of platform floors or stairs, cables)
  • Fire
  • Long working hours
  • Working at height (when dressing the stand or during the open period)
  • Electricity (e.g. poor wiring)
  • Manual handling
  • Noise
  • Poor lighting
  • High or low temperature
You can download a standard Risk Assessment Template.

Those shell scheme stands that intend to have an interior build, for example closed off cupboard space or built in advertising elements must refer to the stand design submission process and present plans for approval.

Please refer to the Timetable page for the full show schedule but note the following key times for shell construction and breakdown:

MACH Schedule

Saturday 18th April – 0800: Arrival time for shell scheme dressing

Please be aware that whilst we will be working to construct the shell scheme stands as quickly as possible, we cannot guarantee when a particular stand will be ready. We therefore recommend that exhibitors do not arrive to dress their shell stands before the advertised time.

Friday 24th April – 2200: Shell Clearance deadline

All shell schemes must be cleared of all exhibitor materials by the time the halls close on the Friday; any materials left on the stands will be removed and exhibitors will incur disposal charges. Please note this does not include machinery and exhibits due to be lifted off the stand by the designated lifting contractor.
